The 'Tiring building' was built in 1912-13 making it the first large selling-floor shop of its kind in Cairo [ ATABA SQUARE ]. Tiring's luxurious four floors offered everything in terms of Parisian haute couture and perfumes, English cloth, Austrian textiles and German housewares.
The architect of the Cairo Tiring - Oscar Horowitz
In January 2005 Tiring's glass globe was painted over in opaque gold and the four Herculean statues carrying it were painted over in charcoal black. This Precious historical monument stands alone in the confused skyline waiting for a stare. some people miss it, and the rest don't seem to care.

Excellent photography and some pro-presentation here. I know what your narrative means about folks missing stuff or just not appreciating the quality of what they see. Neat posting.

It's rendered high in the sky and hard to miss, but the crowd in attaba square is so confusing that you actualy missed the view.
